The Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Hon. Dr Gift Worlu, on Wednesday, participated in The Rivers We Want Town Hall Series held at Farah Coffee Lounge, Port Harcourt. The civic engagement forum, anchored by renowned broadcaster Segun Owolabi, brought together citizens, policymakers, and stakeholders to review governance within the first 100 days of the new administrative cycle.
With the theme “100 Days of Governance: Setting the Pace for Development and Inclusive Leadership,” the event provided a platform for leaders across the state to outline their vision, developmental roadmap, and commitment to people-centred leadership.
Dr Gift Worlu, in his address, presented his comprehensive OBALGA A.R.I.S.E governance blueprint, detailing the progress his administration has recorded so far. He highlighted strategic interventions in infrastructure, security, social welfare, youth empowerment and administrative reforms designed to reposition Obio/Akpor as a model for effective grassroots governance.
During the interactive session, participants engaged with the chairman, asking questions ranging from project execution timelines to policy direction and community participation. Dr Gift Worlu responded thoroughly, reaffirming his dedication to transparent governance and inclusivity. He further outlined the components of the A.R.I.S.E agenda, stressing that his administration remains focused on implementing sustainable development projects across all wards of the Local Government.
